Dr. David Andrews completed three years of undergraduate studies in biology and pre-optometry at Clemson University prior to entering optometry school. He was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree in biology and his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1977 from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. While in optometry school, he became a charter member of Student Voluntary Optometry Services to Humanity, traveling internationally to provide eye care to needy populations in third-world countries.
Upon graduation from the Southern College of Optometry, Dr. Andrews served as a lieutenant in the United States Public Health Service’s Indian Health Service branch from 1977 to 1980 and was stationed at the Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, N.M. While a commissioned officer in the Indian Health Service, Dr. Andrews was an assistant adjunct professor for the University of Southern California College of Optometry and Southern College of Optometry’s externship programs offered through the medical center.
He has been in private practice in Florence for the past 40 years and founder of Lee County Eye Associates. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association. Dr. Andrews and his wife, Sandy, have four children. He enjoys cycling and kayaking in his spare time.
Dr. Jason Lee is a native of Florence. He graduated summa cum laude from Francis Marion University in 1997. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry with internships at the Birmingham VA Medical Center and the Brookwood Eye Institute. Dr. Lee received his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors in 2002.
Dr. Lee entered private practice in Columbia, S.C., after graduation, but in 2003 he returned to Florence and joined Dr. Andrews in practice at Palmetto Vision Center. and Lee County Eye Associates. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association, as well as the Pee Dee Area Optometric Society. Dr. Lee enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his wife, Ingrid, and their three children.
